Minimum age for tattoos in Nevada
The minimum age to get a tattoo in Nevada is 18 years old. Nevada law (NRS 652A) prohibits tattooing minors, even with parental consent. This applies to all tattoo establishments in Las Vegas and throughout Clark County.
What identification is required
Tattoo studios are required to verify your age before proceeding. Accepted forms of ID include:
- State-issued driver’s license or ID card
- U.S. passport or passport card
- Military ID
What happens if you are under 18
Studios that tattoo minors face significant legal penalties, including fines and loss of their operating permit. Reputable studios will refuse service to anyone under 18 regardless of circumstances.
