LVTS Editorial Standards

The bar for being listed, the rules we hold ourselves to, and the trust contract behind every page on the platform.

This page describes the specific editorial standards Las Vegas Tattoo Studios (LVTS) applies when the subject matter carries real stakes for a reader — safety, legal age requirements, and health-adjacent aftercare advice — and how we handle any specific studio or business that comes up in our coverage. It is a companion to our broader Editorial Guidelines and Editorial Policy pages, not a restatement of them.

Primary sources for safety and legal claims

Any claim on this site that touches health, safety, or the law is sourced to a primary or authoritative source, not to a secondary blog post or a studio’s own marketing copy. In practice that means:

  • Nevada tattoo law and age requirements are sourced to the Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code, and to the relevant county or state health authority (e.g., the Southern Nevada Health District) where a rule is administered locally.
  • Aftercare and skin-health guidance is sourced to established dermatological and public-health guidance, not to anecdote or a single studio’s preferred routine.
  • Event and convention dates are verified against the organizer’s own published schedule before we list them.

Where a law or health guideline could plausibly have changed since a page was last checked, we say so and point the reader to the primary source directly rather than asking them to take our word for it.

No paid placement, ever

No studio, artist, or business has ever paid LVTS for coverage, for a favorable mention, or for placement in an article. We do not have a sales process, a media kit, or a rate card for editorial mentions. If that ever changes for any part of the site, it will be disclosed plainly on the page where it applies — see our Editorial Policy for how affiliate relationships (which are different from paid editorial placement) are disclosed.

No submissions, no profiles, no portal

LVTS is not a directory and does not operate a submission system of any kind. We do not accept studio, artist, supplier, or event submissions; we do not publish claimed or self-managed business profiles; and no business can request or purchase a listing, a badge, or featured placement on this site. When we mention a specific studio — for example, as an illustrative example in a neighborhood or walk-in guide — that mention is written and chosen by our editorial team, not submitted, claimed, or paid for by the business named.

Independence from businesses named in coverage

Naming a studio or artist in an article is a factual or illustrative reference, not an endorsement, ranking, or recommendation. We do not coordinate coverage with the businesses we mention, do not give them approval over what we publish, and do not remove accurate information at a business’s request simply because they dislike it. Requests to correct a factual error are handled through the corrections process below; requests to remove accurate, unflattering, or simply unwanted mentions are not.

Corrections

If a specific safety, legal, or factual claim on this site is wrong or outdated, tell us and we will fix it. See our Editorial Policy for how to submit a correction and how quickly we respond.
